Boudoir Photo Shoot

0021

Boudoir Sessions have been quite popular these days that it makes me so happy to see women proud of their bodies and sexuality.  I think women are becoming more secure and confident in who they that more and more ladies are eager and excited about having their photos taken.  Whether these sessions are for their boyfriends, soon-to-be-husbands, husbands or actually just flat out for themselves, these photo sessions are my favorite one to take.  There is nothing more rewarding then making a woman see how beautiful and powerful she truly is!

I wish I could post all the boudoir sessions I do, but I honestly have been so busy that it’s been hard to find the time to get everything up on my blog!  I will post some other boudoir photos as soon as I am able.  Until then, enjoy viewing Brooke’s Boudoir Session.

What an intimate wedding this was!  It was my first wedding where I was pretty much the only guest!  LOL.  Holly and Patrick wanted to focus their ceremony on wedding together; therefore, the only ones present were the wedding officiant, his wife, the Inn Keeper, David, who also was their pianist and myself!  It was truly a touching ceremony that made my eyes water as I watched them exchange their wedding vows to one another.

I would like to share a quick “inspirational attitude” with all your married couples out there that are so busy with raising kids, working and the like.  I sent an email to Holly asking her how their honeymoon was and just loved her response…

“What honeymoon? Straight home to 4 kids the next day! Ha! We will get one soon enough though. We try to honeymoon a little every day! :)

I really like that…. ‘we try to honeymoon a little every day!’  Isn’t that how a relationship should be, you tend to it every day, not just when you can get a week or two off!

Enjoy their slideshow with their wedding song played at their ceremony…

Uplifting Consultation Meeting

justin&lindsay

Part of my job as a photographer is meeting with brides and grooms who are researching and interviewing many photographers to see who will be their “perfect” photographer for their wedding.  Most consultation meetings start out with me finding out who the couple is, how they met, what their wedding details are and then the couple looks through my selection of wedding albums they can choose from when designing their own photography package.

I really like to “get to know” the couples because although “I” am being interviewed, what they don’t know, is that I am interviewing “them” too.  I think it’s so important that we’re a great match for each other because we will spend so much time together…everything from the engagement session, before the wedding, at the wedding and all the time we will spend together after the wedding regarding their photos and designing their album to their preference.  It matters greatly to me that we have a great relationship from start to finish because I love what I do and I want to be their source of joy during this very precious part of their lives.

Well today, I had a consultation appointment in Fernandina Beach and I left so filled with life and joy upon hearing her love story!  Listening to Lindsay’s story for how she and Justin, her fiance, met was a great story, one that I just have to share!  I think their story can build so many people’s faith in the power of “what is meant to be will be” regardless of what you do or don’t do!

Lindsay was not looking to have a relationship with anyone for she truly enjoyed being single; however, there was something in store for her that would change her outlook on relationships.

Lindsay met Justin at the Brix, a dance club here in Jacksonville Beach.  She noticed him right away and knew right away he was something special.  She knew she just had to meet him, there was something about him that caught her attention so after getting into conversation with his friends, she was able to speak with him.  After Lindsay and her friend were done talking with Justin and his friends, she just left.  Didn’t ask for his phone number nor did Justin ask for hers.  She left not knowing if she would ever see him again.

The following day, she and her girlfriend had plans to spend a relaxing day basking under the sun on Jacksonville’s beaches.  But when they arrived, moments later, an approaching dark cloud filled them with disappointment.  Reluctantly, they had to leave and decided to spend some time at the Lemon Bar, an outside bar located right on the beach.  As soon as she walked in, right away she noticed JUSTIN was there too!  Their paths crossed again, JUST A DAY later after they initially met!

Justin and Lindsay fell in love and now they are getting married on December 19, 2009!

They have an adorable website that tells their wonderful love story that you can check out on their personal wedding website.  I hope their story uplifts you as much as it did me.

The New Canon 5D Mark II

5d_mark_ii_02

Ok, I have to confess, I have sinned! I bought the new Canon 5D Mark II camera and although I have had it for three weeks now, I have yet to use it even once!  I know, SINNER!  I have heard so many great things about this camera, so I can’t wait to use it.  I will try it out and see if all the hype on this sucker is true.  Will take so photos and show my repentance soon!  I also can’t wait to post photos of one of my favorite weddings I just photographed soon.  You’d think after shooting so many weddings in all these years I have been a photographer that I’ve shot every wedding imaginable, but I experienced something so precious, so heart moving and emotional that I look forward to when I can post a few photos from last Saturday’s wedding.  And yes, Holly, this means your wedding and I will scratch your itch by giving you a sneak preview!  I promise girl!  : )
