Uplifting Consultation Meeting

justin&lindsay

Part of my job as a photographer is meeting with brides and grooms who are researching and interviewing many photographers to see who will be their “perfect” photographer for their wedding.  Most consultation meetings start out with me finding out who the couple is, how they met, what their wedding details are and then the couple looks through my selection of wedding albums they can choose from when designing their own photography package.

I really like to “get to know” the couples because although “I” am being interviewed, what they don’t know, is that I am interviewing “them” too.  I think it’s so important that we’re a great match for each other because we will spend so much time together…everything from the engagement session, before the wedding, at the wedding and all the time we will spend together after the wedding regarding their photos and designing their album to their preference.  It matters greatly to me that we have a great relationship from start to finish because I love what I do and I want to be their source of joy during this very precious part of their lives.

Well today, I had a consultation appointment in Fernandina Beach and I left so filled with life and joy upon hearing her love story!  Listening to Lindsay’s story for how she and Justin, her fiance, met was a great story, one that I just have to share!  I think their story can build so many people’s faith in the power of “what is meant to be will be” regardless of what you do or don’t do!

Lindsay was not looking to have a relationship with anyone for she truly enjoyed being single; however, there was something in store for her that would change her outlook on relationships.

Lindsay met Justin at the Brix, a dance club here in Jacksonville Beach.  She noticed him right away and knew right away he was something special.  She knew she just had to meet him, there was something about him that caught her attention so after getting into conversation with his friends, she was able to speak with him.  After Lindsay and her friend were done talking with Justin and his friends, she just left.  Didn’t ask for his phone number nor did Justin ask for hers.  She left not knowing if she would ever see him again.

The following day, she and her girlfriend had plans to spend a relaxing day basking under the sun on Jacksonville’s beaches.  But when they arrived, moments later, an approaching dark cloud filled them with disappointment.  Reluctantly, they had to leave and decided to spend some time at the Lemon Bar, an outside bar located right on the beach.  As soon as she walked in, right away she noticed JUSTIN was there too!  Their paths crossed again, JUST A DAY later after they initially met!

Justin and Lindsay fell in love and now they are getting married on December 19, 2009!

They have an adorable website that tells their wonderful love story that you can check out on their personal wedding website.  I hope their story uplifts you as much as it did me.

The Fabulous Liz Stewart!

Last night I had so much fun at Liz Stewart’s Grand Opening for her new storefront in Jax Beach! ¬†Liz is not only a wonderful person, but she is ridiculously talented with her flower designs! ¬†If you are down by the beaches you MUST stop in and say hello to Liz and Tiffany and check out her gorgeous store!! ¬†

Liz Stewart herself!

Liz used one of my favorite caterers, Catering by Liz Grenamyer, to yummy up the night! ¬†Whenever I am at a wedding where I know it is catered by Liz and her fantastic team, I always sneak in a bite, or two, or three… okay I am not shy at all, I just dive right on in!!!! ¬†

Here is Tiffany, with her new husband, Eric! ¬†When I met Tiffany I immediately was impressed with her. ¬†Tiffany is the kind of woman when you meet her, instantly you feel so comfortable around her. ¬†She is so loving, so friendly and welcoming that she’s the type of person where you want to hang out with her all the time! ¬†It’s no wonder Liz wants her on her team!

Tiffany, me and Shannon! ¬†Don’t you just love Shannon’s dress! ¬†Ok sadly, this photo doesn’t do her threads justice! ¬†She looked so adorable in her pink dress with her gray tights and high heels! ¬† This chic knows style! : )

Taking a break from mingling, I grabbed my camera to have some fun with these fella’s! ¬†I had so much fun with Shawn and Eric! ¬†These guys are just a bunch of goof balls I tell you! ¬†We were being so silly taking photos and creating our own mini photo shoot! ¬†Shawn does some modeling, yet he was so modest with the camera! ¬†

Here’s me getting these boys to be sassy for the camera…

What a nice surprise to run into lovely Nicole who works with Sharon Batten! ¬†I shot a wedding where one of my fantastic brides, Staci Myles, wore this elegantly stylish Melissa Sweet wedding gown and when I first met Nicole at her shop, I noticed right away Staci’s gown was there! ¬†If you live in Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra then you all know what top quality Sharon provides in terms of wedding gowns, veils, jewelry, and women’s clothing! ¬†

I am so excited to introduce you to another highly talented professional, Lorna Meehan, with Amelia Occasions, one of Jacksonville’s best wedding coordinators! ¬†I absolutely love working with Lorna at weddings. ¬†She is so organized, on top of her game, such a joy to be around and truly knows what team spirit is all about! ¬†I was so happy to meet her daughter, Ashley, who reminds me so much of her mothe, so friendly and sincere! ¬†Ashley also works with Amelia Occasions! ¬†Look at these women… don’t you just love their red hair! ¬†

As much as I love everyone I got to see last night, Leah Powell, truly was brightened my night the most!  When you meet people that come into your life that so generously give their time and heart to you, you just never forget such people!  Leah Powell played a HUGE role in my life in me becoming a wedding photographer!  It was because of HER and shooting weddings with her early on in my photography career that I am where I am today!  Leah not only taught me about taking photos and other things related to photography but she also was a real friend too.  She permanently made an impression on my heart that will forever be there.  My dreams of becoming a wedding photographer came true because of her influence and willingness to help me along my photography path!  Leah, thank you.  I love you so dearly my friend and will forever be grateful for you!!!

And I cannot forget the sweet Heather and her fun team, with First Coast Weddings!  Heather also is a terrific wedding coordinator here in Jacksonville!!!!  The happy guy on the right is Dan Harris with Dan Harris Photography.  Dan has a wonderful sense of humor and definitely knows how to make people smile.

Thank you Liz and Tiffany for such a lovely evening!!!!  I will being you beautiful ladies around soon!  : )

Indoor Tanning For Brides!

(Photo courtesy of Airbrush Tanning Co.)

For brides looking to darken their pale skin tones during the winter season, you may want to check out Airbrush Tanning located here in Jacksonville, FL.

A photographers nightmare is when we show up at a wedding to find a bride wearing a strapless dress with tan lines all up and down her chest!  Most brides forget to be mindful of sun exposure and their selective attire that by the time they realize their problem, it is too late.

If you are looking to add color to your skin during these winter months check out Anna’s website for more information!
